Ryan Glowka is an American paragliding and paramotoring pilot who joined the ITV team in 2022.
When he was a child, he dreamed about being a pilot… but in his teenage years he saw many videos of paramotor and made it a mission to save enough money for training and equipment ! At 17 years old, his dream became a reality. Since then, he feels like his life has been one big awesome flight !!
He now get to travel a lot to take part into many airshows, but also teaches new pilots the sport he loves so much !!
Ryan has racked up over 2000 flying hours in 11 countries and counting and that comes with a few good stories.. here is one he shared with the team:
We planned a 300km trip para camping flight across the Texas coast with pipers! We flew from Corpus Christi Texas and follow the beach until we were at an undeveloped island with no roads and no people for 100km. So we decided to camp right there ! Carrying an extra 20 liters of fuel, all camping supplies, extra parts and of course snacks!
The next day, we go to takeoff, but my friend s' engine doesn’t run properly. So we do a carb cleaning on the beach, like open heart surgery in the wild!
After that we left this island behind and fly nicely towards our goal in Texas. But then, we realize that we still have extra fuel and decide to keep going! In the end, we flew from Corpus Christi Texas to holly beach Louisiana, across state lines! Ending at 270 miles away and a 430 kilometer flight. Thanks to the speed of the Piper!
